Important Fact: Nero no longer uses the traditional activation method for Microsoft Store orders

Regardless of whether you purchased from the Microsoft Store or the Nero official website, you will NOT receive an alphanumeric activation code.
The modern activation method is "account binding + automatic activation" – the license is directly linked to your user account. Simply log in to the correct Microsoft Store account, and the software activates itself.


1. After Purchasing from the Microsoft Store

  • Nero License bound to: Your Microsoft account

  • Activation steps:

    1. Open the Microsoft Store app

    2. Click your profile picture → "My Library."

    3. Find your Nero product and click "Install."

    4. The first time you launch the software, it activates automatically (no input required)

  • Important notes:

    • You must be logged into Windows and the Store with the same Microsoft account used for purchase

    • Microsoft accounts and Nero accounts are separate systems. Nero support cannot see your Microsoft Store orders


2. Why Asking Nero Support for an Activation Code Doesn't Work

  • Many users say, "Please give me an activation code", but Nero no longer uses that traditional system

  • Nero's account system can only find orders linked to a Nero account (email address) 

  • If you are a Microsoft Store user, Nero support cannot find any record in their account system – and we have no way of knowing your purchase channel unless you tell us


3. The Right Way to Contact Support (Very Important)

Start your conversation with the statement:

"I purchased from the Microsoft Store. I don't have an activation code. My Microsoft account is xxx@outlook.com."

This lets the support immediately understand that you do not need an activation code, and they will direct you to the right place ("My Library" in the Microsoft Store).
